How radiation exposure from my ipad affected me

I had bought myself an ipad mini4 for Christmas this past December, thinking it would be great for general researching, photo editing and instagram & facebook posting having a bigger screen than my iphone6.

It did seem quite nice for doing all that sitting on the couch, instead of at my desk where my mac book pro sits.

I had the ipad for a week and noticed feeling nausia, though thinking it was just motion sickness that I suffer when a passenger in the car, but I started to notice I was feeling this way at home too.
The second week of using my ipad (about an hour or two a day) my wrists and forearms felt a bit sore, but thought it was just from holding the ipad.

I tried propping it up on a pillow on my lap.

I was typing and researching quite a bit that week, probably using it a couple hours in the evenings.

Along with the nausia that seemed to be getting worse I started getting headaches, something that I rarely suffer from.

My hands and arms also started to feel tingly and numb.

I had been looking for an ipad cover online and came across some articles & you tube videos about EMF radiation.

What are EMFs?
EMF stands for electromagnetic field. Electromagnetic fields are comprised of an electric and a magnetic field perpendicular to each other, which travel together in an invisible wave form.

I watched a couple of different you tube videos of people testing cell phones, tablets, and other household items using a hand held Geiger counter.

Some experiments were done to see how different materials affected or didn’t make any difference in stopping radiation from cell phones & tablets etc.

As it turns out, only metal or a thick wad of soaking wet paper towels made any significant difference in stopping radiation.

symptoms of radiation exposure:

  • extreme fatigue
  • joint & muscle pain
  • decreased attention span
  • memory loss
  • difficulty focusing
  • insomnia
  • dizziness
  • tingling
  • nausia
  • agitation and numbness
  • weakness
  • other problems in your hand or wrist
  • HPA axis dysfunction (also known as adrenal fatigue)
  • hormone imbalances
  • increased in cancer risk

Recent studies have linked EMFs to increased leukemia, lymphoma, brain cancer, melanoma, breast cancer, miscarriage, birth defects, suicide, and most recently, Alzheimer’s disease.

To summarize what I found out about how to mitigate radiation when using lap tops renamed “personal computers”, tablets, and cell phones

Distance is critical. Its effects are exponential.

Even small increase in distance between us and our electronic devices such as tablets, cell phones and personal computer translates to significantly less exposure.

  • use the tablet on airplane mode when not connected to the internet
  • do not set it on your lap, or in close proximity to our bodies (use a stand)

cell phones:

  • use ear pods while talking on the cell phone, keep the phone as far away from our body as possible.
  • Turn the wifi OFF when you don’t need it.

5 quick tips to mitigate radiation exposure on our personal computers:

1) keep distance by placing your pc on a desk while we work.

2) sit further away from our monitor

3) ground our computer equipment

“Grounding” is the process of providing electricity with an efficient path to the earth. If our computer equipment is ungrounded, especially our laptops, placing our hands on the keyboard can engender high electric field exposures.

check whether your computer is grounded:

  • if your power cord has three prongs, then your computer is grounded
  • if your power cord has two prongs, then your laptop is ungrounded

If your laptop has a 2 pin plug, you can ground it with a laptop grounding cord. This will enable the EMFs generated by your computer to route through the wire and not through you.

4) switch to a wired, external keyboard

Magnetic radiation or magnetic fields are generated as soon as any computer is switched on.

The most common sources of harmful magnetic fields are the motor of the hard drive inside our computer and the in-line transformer unit.

By using a wired, external keyboard, the transformer unit will be situated at least a few feet from our body, which will considerably lower our EMF exposure.

5) Replace our wireless installation with a hard-wired ethernet cat 6 cable
turn your wifi OFF when we are not using it!

EMF protection from ferromagnetic (iron containing) stones also help:

  • lodestone/magnetite
  • hematite
  • pyrite
  • black tourmaline
  • shungite

Salt crystal lamps are extremely beneficial for us, because they are natural negative ionizers. When the gentle heat from the lamp warms the crystal, they emit a negative electrical charge, thus ionizing our atmosphere and interacting with our own bio-energetic field, and helping to neutralize harmful EMF radiation.

What I did immediately after finding out that I had radiation exposure sickness:

  •  I returned my ipad
  • Got a cookie tin, cut a hole for the cables and put my wifi router inside it
  • Bought cat 6 ethernet cable for my macbook
  • Placed a hematite crystal on the keyboard of my macbook and near my cell phone. I actually wore one around my neck for the first 4 days.
  • I use earbuds to talk on my cell phone.
  • I turn off the wifi on my phone when not needed.
  • Spent more time outside during the day as I felt so ill inside where all the electricity was. (It took me about 4 days to feel better).
  • My diet is rich in antioxidants, as well I make my own kombucha tea, take ginseng and royal jelly daily.
  • I already have cacti where my computer sits.
  • I’m going shopping for a himalayan salt lamp!

Any electronic device emits radiation and we are exposed to it every minute of our lives. So, it’s really a must that we find ways on how to protect ourselves from this radiation.

You are so right! I try to remember to unplug items when not using them! I also have a few cad internet cables around the house to plug my phone or laptop into instead of using wifi

Himalayan pink salt is really wonderful. I also just recently ordered a Himalayan salt lamp for my dad who has emphysema and I put it to his room and I can see improvement in his health now… I want to believe that the Himalayan salt lamp helps a lot.
