Apple crumble

I’ve finally perfected my apple crumble recipe!

Apple crumble-makes 10” x 10” casserole dish

12 c chopped apples, skins on
or 10 c apples plus 2 c coarsely chopped cherries (or other fruit such as pears, apricots, rhubarb)
2 heaping T tapioca starch
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
¼ tsp clove

 

 

 

 

crumble topping

¼ c melted butter
½ c coconut or brown sugar
2 c flour
2 tsp cinnamon
stir melted butter & sugar together, stir in flour & spice, continue to combine until crumble like texture.

1 egg-slightly beaten, dribble on top of crumble
2 T coconut or brown sugar, sprinkle on top

 

 

Bake 350 50 minutes until you see bubbles on the edges and crumble is golden.

Serve hot of cold
