I’ve been making home made guacamole for years, but have tweaked it so far that I’ve re named it “avocado dip”.
My recipe is nutritiously packed with omega 3 & 6!
1 ripe avocado
½ c Olympic Krema (extra thick) plain yogurt
1 T lemon juice
1 T hemp seed oil
2 T chopped fresh cilantro
2 T finely chopped onion
1 c chopped fresh spinach
1/8 tsp Himalayan salt
1/8 tsp coarse black pepper
¼ tsp Kirkland organic no salt seasoning
1 T black or roasted sesame seed
- peel, pit then mash your ripe avocado with a fork
- mix in everything else except the sesame seed, which are to be sprinkled on top.
- this healthy dip is best chilled before serving.
Adding a boost of omega-6 by adding hemp seed oil to my recipe
helps fight inflammation in such diseases as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and Alzheimer’s disease.
Hemp seed oil contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which aid in arthritic pain and is high in protein.
Avocado contains omega-3
which help the membranes of your cells stay healthy, which help our organ system healthy.
Studies show that that people with arthritis, Crohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, migraine headaches, depression, schizophrenia, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, benefit from the anti-inflammatory properties of omega-3s.
Spinach has anti-inflammatory benefits and also contains omega-3 fatty acids
which play an essential role in inflammation regulation and is high in vitamins K, A, manganese, folate (vitamin B), magnesium and iron.
Cilantro is a good source of vitamin C, along with phosphorus, potassium, zinc, dietary fiber, calcium, iron, and magnesium.
Helps rid the body of heavy metals, lowers anxiety and improves sleep, protects against cardiovascular disease and much more…
I thought that avocados were toxic for dogs, but have just found this article that proves me as having incorrect information about that! Click on the link below to read about it:
